So the USA beat Pakistan in the #cricketworldcup yesterday, an enormous upset. The World Cup is being hosted by the USA and the West Indies jointly, and I hope it increases US interest in the game, especially now they have a pretty great team.

As a research for a book I once learned that Pakistani immigrants have an active cricket scene going in Brooklyn, so I'm going to assume the US team consists mostly of Asian players. That's the only way I can comprehend this. 😀

I honestly would not know about this if it were not for social media. Haven't heard a bleep about it on the news.

They are an associate ICC team. Not one of the 12 teams that are full members. In T20 they are ranked 18. It was a huge upset.
