As the tributes pour in for Alex Salmond I'd like to pay tribute to all the heroic women and girls who bravely speak out when they've been sexually assaulted by powerful men, knowing full well that, not only will they probably get away with it, they'll have tributes pour in for them when they die.

We've "invented" the flying car at least once every 5 years since the 1960s. They never take off (ha!) because if your car breaks down on your way to work, it doesn't fall 2,000 feet onto an elementary school. Things may be technologically possible but wildly undesirable socially.
