I thought maybe this would be in the Irish news media today, but still tumbleweeds on the whole issue. I dunno, seems pretty important to me.
sure enough, not a sniff of it on the Irish Times website front page. wtf
Oof. I hope I'm not talking out of turn but I do know that at one point, the Republic of Ireland was one of the main global hubs for corporate money laundering because of weird tax loopholes. (That might not still be the case...)
It is important. Thanks for posting. I don't want to think about England's footprint. Makes it clear that the crypto bros are literally burning the planet to make money, and that they're not the only ones.
That this happened on the Green Party's watch is the cherry on top
I noted that there's a filibuster story about Ryan saying there should be DARTs in other cities outside of Dublin, seemed a bit of a non-story one to run with, so maybe a useful distraction + I think @fancyvegaspro.bsky.social screen grabbed one headline with Ryan saying Ireland needs more DCs 🙈
I was thinking the same; it’s not in ANY of the home papers?
It was covered yesterday by the Irish Times, Examiner, Indo (🔒), and The Journal, tbf. Crickets on RTE so far, though, and it should be a national scandal www.irishtimes.com/business/202...www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-41...www.independent.ie/irish-news/d...www.thejournal.ie/eamon-ryan-d...
Apparently Pat Kenny interviewed someone about it yesterday, that's it!
