Oh, I absolutely adore Warriors' Gate, but I'll concede that the novelisation (both versions) is more satisfying than the TV version.

I think the TV version is a triumph of style over substance, and the novel(s) reveal there was more substance to the story originally. JNT seems to have spent a lot of time in season 18 asking people to dumb things down…
