…Sapp, a young boy, visited her with his family from the Red Pheasant Reserve. Sapp, also sickly as a child, would survive, unlike many of his siblings. Raised by his grandparents, Albert and Maggie Soonias, Sapp would go on to be one of Canada’s prominent Indigenous painters. Gonor Collection.
