So Bill Clinton's 50 million to 1 million jobs added claim? It is correct. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Let's not forget the $54 TRILLION that transferred from 90% of America's working class to the 1% ever since republican's trickle down and *tax breaks* BS. republicans have NOT ONE good idea, and haven't for decades.

The Top 1% of Americans Have Taken $50 Trillion From the Bottom 90%—And That's Made the U.S. Less Secure

A report shows that a $50 trillion redistribution of income to benefit the richest has made America less healthy, resilient, and secure

I'm rather surprised that anyone would have thought Bill Clinton careless enough to have made any error in his claim.

Of course it's correct; notoriously precise Bill Clinton told us he checked it three times. Apparently some people just don't like the numbers and just don't like that he chose numbers starting at the end of the Cold War. Those same people also didn't like seeing the son of Tim Walz crying.

Thanks for doing this. The claim did seem too wild to be true.

Excellent column! It's such a stark gap for the 50:1 ratio. TIL that Trump lost roughly double the jobs that Bush Junior gained.

Yeah, but it's misleading because you have to consider the context that i, the fact checker, don't like it.

I just used the Wikipedia data on job growth rate going back to Coolidge and Ds had an average annual % job growth rate of 2.79%, while Rs had .89%, so it's hard to argue that this stat is even cherry picked.

I clipped a political cartoon back around 1993 and wish I had not lost it. It showed an elephant walking away with Bush written on the saddle blanket. Clinton, in worker's overall was sweeping up the turds. The text said, "if only we didn't have to clean up their messes."
