republicans think every problem can be solved with more death

Any problem can be solved that way if by "solved" you mean that there's no problem anymore. I think the problem is that 1) that's not anyone else's definition of solved and 2) they assume that they are immune to the death part. More likely being cruel and malign is the point, as others have noted.
