Teaching my 9th graders how to write thesis statements. All of them had good ideas for what they want to write about, but they're having a hard time forming quality sentences. Hope I can help them improve before our upcoming two-week break when they will no doubt forget everything. 🫠

I need to find a better optometrist than the random technician at BicCamera. My vision has gone downhill since my 44th birthday a few months ago. Now I get to add presbyopia to the myopia and astigmatism. 😩

I feel like it's 2012 whenever I see photos of fall foliage or puppies sitting in a pumpkin patch on tumblr.

Unfortunately, by bedtime, my daughter had a fever of 39° and a terrible headache. Got her some medicine and let her sleep on the couch in the living room. Read a bit and she fell asleep after tossing and turning. Hope she wakes up feeling better tomorrow.

Rainy, overcast day with the windows open, a fall-scented candle burning, and watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" with my daughter. Perfect Saturday afternoon, tbh.

My daughter and I are nearing the end of the Ramona Quimby series, and I promised her we would watch the 2010 movie when we're done. I took a look at the wiki and found out her favorite song, "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles, is on the soundtrack. She's gonna be so excited!

We still haven’t reached good fall weather here in Tokyo. Today will be pushing 90°, cloudy and humid with some rain. I haven’t smelled a single キンモクセイ… that’s how you know autumn has really arrived in Japan.

I have had this horrible pain in my heel for the past three days, and I can only assume it’s from standing in front of my classes all day. I better not end up being one of those teachers always wearing a damn boot!

A friend and I have been trying to go for cup of coffee for over a year & we cannot sync our schedules. I'm either sick or traveling & he's often traveling. But he's finally back in town and I'm healthy enough to meet up. I proposed tomorrow morning but haven't heard back. I suppose this is payback.
