Just going to leave this here (note that British universities give tenure right away) https://jobs.nottingham.ac.uk/Vacancies.aspx?cat=684&type=6
Preferable to think "what do I want to know?" BEFORE thinking about how to study it. It's harder/slower science. You can't crank the handle and turn out the papers. But I think it's more informative for the field
Many scientists don't just stick to a single field but essentially to a single *study*, which they repeat with variants for an entire career People tend to think "If I tweaked this method (that I already understand) what would it tell us?" ie. Chose the method 1st and then worked out the question!
Huge congrats! Looking forward to reading it - I'm certain it's fascinating
Open Education about Open Science. Meta-open! 😁 💪🌻
I'm also (only) 51 and, two days ago, a teenager offered me their seat on the bus!

Come and join us at Nottingham, School of Psychology. Asst Prof position in a thriving department (that also happens to be home of PsychoPy 😁). Note, mostly for Americans, that in the UK these positions are fully tenured from the start jobs.nottingham.ac.uk/vacancy.aspx...
That's an interesting idea. I've never tried Ubuntu+PsychoPy+Steam. I guess driver/graphics support is good at least given that it's mainly for games
I've heard the "but I like having brainless talks like this on my workflow" a lot too. My feeling is that those people need to take an actual break. And after their actual break, get back to doing the sort of work that requires their intellect. Don't create menial tasks and pretend it's a break
