ah but, you see, ādemocracyā is when republicans can get elected without all the fuss of having to appeal to a plurality of voters
This is from Restaurant Story in London. The candle is made from beef fat; you dip bread in the pool below. It didnāt suck! Although my favourite part was the tiny pot of ultra-concentrate beef jus that also came with the bread.
Ah, yes, the delicate process of screaming "SHUT UP AND LET ME THINK FOR TEN SECONDS" at your inner redteam voice, so you can figure out if you're looking at something worthwhile or not and if you should be trying to solve the problems or not. I know this well!
Soooo this cuts to the heart of what worries me about labellers which is that (leaving aside purely objective ones) they're (mostly?) amateurs doing skilled work without knowing what they don't know. And the best case scenario is the amateur becomes a pro - which isn't an enjoyable process. Hmmm š
The Sam Vimes MO...
(an aside in case you don't already know this and find the language as delightful as I do) The British legal system has specific jargon for "a reasonable person acting in good faith"; they say "the man on the Clapham omnibus." I don't quite know why but that turn of phrase tickles me.
Probably just a coincidence!!!
Itās somewhat incredible to me that my 2019 Nvidia Shield is still the best streaming box I could own. If it broke tomorrow, Iād replace it with another immediately. And itās five years old!
I have two pans like that, 1 off-brand cast iron and a Le Creuset stainless steel. The cast iron doesnāt get much use - itās heavy and canāt be dishwashered - but the steel one is great for exactly the dishes youāre talking about. Itās a good chicken roaster too, with potatoes/onions in the base.
Camp fires can get too hot and oxidise the outside of the pan, ruining it. It turns pinkish and wonāt hold seasoning more. You need to get them _really_ hot for this, but itās not like you can know or control the heat a campfire is putting outā¦ (Source: many damaged pans on r/castiron)
