WWII ice cream barge, able to create 10 gallons of ice cream every seven minutes to support morale a chilling display of soft power

BRL (Barge, Refrigerated, Large) is now my favorite AMT (Acronym, Military, Three-Leter) of all time.

My Dad was a PhD dairy scientist from Penn State. Drafted into the Army Quartermaster Corps after graduating he was put to work developing ice cream flavors that could be made from the supplies in army kitchens. His pride and joy was rum raisin (with optional alcohol if available from the medics)
