That is a subset of this group definitely. And that subset, as others have suggested downthread here, are mostly lonely, I think.

For the subset who I used to come across via forums in the 00's I think it's true of them as well. The pub bore and the nit-picky cleverer-than-thou forum warrior have that as an overlap. The question imo is whether they have never had anyone to tell them, or if they just refused to listen.
