I'd like to be able to go in a time machine back to when Clinton was trying to broker peace, show them all this grim future and get them to sign up to peace. Or even better go back to 1948 and make them see sense back then.

But that’s the point - there were a series of exit points which included options on Jerusalem etc. What’s different now is that one side can envisage total victory.
