Put another way, the British state raised more revenue in 2023 from corporation tax paid by OnlyFans' parent company (£118m) than it did from North Sea oil royalties and license fees (£69m)

Its an outrage that the government gives away our natural resources for nothing.

That this is true is remarkable. That the exploiters of the UK’s natural resources pay so little is an outrage.

What. Why are the royalties so low

Is this as crazy as it looks? It is still 22%+56% in Norway. Same type of fields.

Norway raises far more royalties. They set a high profit share (85%?) and stuck by it. There was certainty and profit for the oil companies. As I understand it, the UK mucked about with their royalties over the years and collected, as you point out, a low amount.

OnlyFans needs to hire some of those oil industry lobbyists.

The UK corporation tax take from Bella Thorne's OnlyFans is probably over £3m per year, comparable to the revenue received by HM Treasury from the aggregates levy levied on the commercial exploitation of rock, sand, and gravel in Northern Ireland (£5m)
