I wonder why some enterprising souls don't install solar panels in the desert in Africa then pipe the electricity through Europe giving a boost to third world finances.

this is a win for everyone, for starters you could use the solar to power your car , Jump the Car- you name it! And excess can be sold back to the grid there's literally no reason not to do this, here's hoping this becomes a global thing.
