Location of the "Bigger than your average splat"? You've been so lucky with the weather.😎

Fabulous locality; I visited on Wednesday to see some older Lewisian not completely overprinted during the Laxfordian.

Took a while but I managed to track down the programme on BBC iPlayer. The 4-part series "Taisce Shean Uladh - Treasures of Ancient Ulster". I found the section on the porcellanite stone axes, (early on in Episode 1), fascinating. It is in Gaelic, but has subtitles for non-speakers like myself.

I remember seeing a tv programme that explained how porcellanite was exploited to produce high quality axe heads, in Ireland, during the Neolithic.

Looks like I'll be playing pseudotachylite structures bingo this weekend, as I re-check my photos from the Outer Hebrides🤓😂. Thank you for making the PDF available.

I was underwhelmed by the PST on the headland that excursion guides describe, luckily I decided to spend a further day exploring Seal Bay immediately to the S. This was the highlight of my visit to Barra; the outcrops were clean and there was just such a variety of PST structures. I need to go back🤩

Geologists are taught to include something providing an indication of scale when photographing rocks outcrops etc. For close ups we often use a coin or a compass, if they don't possess a proper scientific scale with graduated markings. For larger outcrops a bag or walking pole is commonly used.
