I will shout this as loud as I can. It is better to make pensioners’ homes warm thru en efficiency than to keep bunging cash to the en companies. Tell pensioners about free boiler upgrades and the Help to Heat schemes that insulate their homes for free. I wish this got as much coverage as the WFA.

We are in a much deeper financial hole than in 2017. How many deaths could £1.6bn a year prevent elsewhere, e.g. by reducing knife crime, improving cancer detection, or investing in pandemic preparedness? It's shit, but most things have a cost-benefit ratio, and there are not always easy choices.
BBC Breakfast commentator this morning said the policy was means tested. It was not challenged. My understanding is it's being scrapped. End of.

This is democracy in action. I would have been staggered if there was no disagreement ( and worried) in the huge Labour party. To me the most interesting part of this is how Starmer will deal with those that disagree in his own party.
So Labour said people will die when the tories proposed it and the Tories said people will die when Labour proposed it. As per my bio, I wear no distinctive t-shirt when it comes to politics and this just shows how grubby they all are just to get into power. Its exhausting, and it pisses me off.
