BREAKING: A motion calling for Labour to reverse its cut to the winter fuel allowance has been backed by party conference members news.sky.com/story/labour...
The motion was put forward by the trade union Unite, which has accused the government of embarking on "austerity mark two".
I hope they don't axe off the single person occupancy , council tax either.
Do I sense a whiff of lesser indifference? What from WP? Don't be fooled. They enjoy American productions present their influence over WP. Which as we know, is not British. But pushy, tacky, sales. Omitting truths from adverts(press promotions) Stealing poor pple's incomes for their own mega profit!
Under Starmer, conference is nothing more than a facade. He'll still do whatever he wants to do.
Do you know whether there are any motions coming up relating to the UK’s relationship with the EU?
Don't think it will make any difference but remember this date when you vote in the next election!
Starmer and Reeves plans to attack Labour Party internal democracy just got prioritised. He knows his own Party hates him after all of his betrayals.
While I feel for pensioners on the edge of this policy, it was never right that ‘all’ pensioners got the winter fuel allowance in the first place. It was to get Tory votes imo, not to help pensioners out that needed it.
I'm not surprised. It was badly communicated.
Unpopular view, I'm sure, but imo the calls to reverse this decision are ignoring the detail and very short-sighted!
I'm a labour supporter, I'm a union member,,(UNISON), I will not ever need the WFA, i don't want it, i want those in most need to have it. There may be argument about cut off, but universal, absolutely not.
