I like a lot of the bravura, muscular film directors as a visually oriented person might, but the only one who sees the world like I do--my visible and invisible surroundings alike--is Terrence Malick. Live forever, guy.

As much as I’ve tried, I just cannot get into his movies.* Not trying to diminish your enjoyment, just lamenting my own inability to appreciate/enjoy. *I say this as someone who considers themself a bit of a cinephile; so, this is a somewhat shameful confession.

I don't always get his movies, but damn if the -TRAILER- for The Tree of Life didn't make me cry for some damn reason.
