It’s not just voting. Women of my grandparents generation often did not know how to drive or have drivers licenses.
My grandma had 5 sisters, 4 younger than her, that all lived well into their 80's. They were all very strong, resilient women in their own right. One of them never learned to drive. It still boggles my mind.
