The rules: I'm only picking A's since 1982 -- when my family moved back to the Bay Area. On the bright side, it gives us 42 years to work with. On the downside, no players from the 71-75 glory years. Sorry, Campy, Rollie and Reggie, should have won stuff when I wasn't an infant.
I've been a Mariners fan since 1978 so I've seen a LOT of the As. I have 2 good friends in East bay who've had season tickets for 11 yrs. They're in the 2nd to last stage of grief & I wish I could help them. As a former Seattle Supersonics fan I can kind of relate but have run out of things to say.
1B: Scott Hatteberg -- Hero of Moneyball, beloved husband of Bitty, hitter of the most dramatic yet meaningless homer in A's regular season history, what's not to like about Hatty? The professional hitter's professional hitter, and a seemingly likable guy to boot.
