Canadian NDP parties need to take a long look in the mirror right now, because with the BC NDP in a race to the bottom on policy, the federal NDP abandoning the carbon tax, and Ontario NDP lacking any semblance of "government in waiting", they aren't inspiring much confidence right now.

I don't need a social democratic party to be morally perfect. You can't institute anything if you're perpetually losing elections. That sometimes means compromises and pragmatism your most puritanical members might not like - but it also doesn't mean caving to a right wing policy agenda.
