The problem with this isn't that MPPs are paid too much - their salaries should actually be raised substantially, you get the caliber of governance you pay for - it's the almost evil hypocrisy of doing so when people when there's ~500k Ontarians on ODSP living in poverty we force on them.

It’s really crass – Doug made up a whole bunch of bullshit cabinet posts just so there’d be enough “associate” ministers and parliamentary secretaries to keep his caucus pacified and in line.

It stretches the limits of belief how utterly insensitive and casually cruel this government is. It's been so normalized because it's hard to see it as penny pinching when they're running deficits the size of Jupiter. No ideology, no vision, just a province that has given up on so many people.
