However, I think that the process of having occupationally competent, professional experts independently assessing a learner in the workplace (or a near substitute) is the gold standard for assessment. Anything else is a step backwards. #TonyTalksEPA

The early versions of the digital standards had a one-size-fits-all approach that helped to manage everyone's expectations as they approached EPA and worked well for standardisation and moderation, without compromising the integrity or quality of the outcomes.

One or two colleagues in the sector are concerned about this, but personally I’m not convinced that simplification necessarily leads to a loss of quality. Even the most straightforward of the #assessmentplans BCS currently works with still produce meaningful outcomes.

Plausible, given that the number of 16-19year old people taking up an apprenticeship has dropped dramatically since the levy was introduced. Training those who already hold GCSE qualifications or equivalent won’t change the direction of the line on this chart.
