One of the many reasons I don't care for the Sonic movies is Ben Schwartz's casting. I don't hear Sonic, I hear Dewey and it kinda drives me crazy. And it's indicative of their voice casting not working for me in general like Idris Elba or Keanu Reeves.

Hell, I feel like them casting the VA of Tails from the game as Tails in the movie is only because they cared so little about Tails that they didn't see fit to cast some big name actor to fill the role instead.
