Social media volunteers help us come up with catchy and fun posts to attract audiences and promote our runners. They also grab clips of awesome moments throughout the marathon to help us share the fun of them long after the event is over. www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Tech checkers are essential for ensuring runners are prepared ahead of time, solving any potential issues before the marathon has started, and allowing for speedy intermissions once the event is underway. They also allow Staff to focus on other event prep. www.pixelperfect.events/tech-checks-...

Tech volunteers are vital for keeping a marathon running and deserve the praise they receive for putting up with being the first person called upon when something goes wrong! Our robust tech system gives our volunteers simple but comprehensive control: www.pixelperfect.events/tech-guide

Hosts are vital for keeping a marathon flowing and with that in mind, we want our hosts to have a bit more control over how they work than the typical marathon might offer. Hosts control scene switching so we go live with a run when they say so: www.pixelperfect.events/host-guide

Races and co-op runs often become the highlights of a marathon, so we've worked hard to make them feel special and encourage runners to submit them. But the workflow we've set up means we're in a good spot to take on layout challenges whenever we get a unique submission!

smmidi showcasing Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo for PPM3. This 3DS run only uses the bottom screen for extra menus, so it was important to keep the focus on the top screen.
brassbeat showcasing Peggle Deluxe + Peggle Nights for PPM3. One of our most unique runs, brassbeat is running two games at the same time, so we kept the game feed boxes together to help illustrate the sense of the games being connected.
metalglennsolid running Metroid Dread for PPM1. From the very start, we knew we didn't want to enforce webcams and vtube models, and that runners who didn't want to display anything should have that option. Rather than leave a blank space, every layout we design can switch to a camless version.
Ozmourn showcasing Antichamber for PPM1. It was actually Ozmourn's 100% run of Antichamber that encouraged us to look into secondary game feeds, as he split in webcam view so he could show off the game's 100% checklist. The second feed we now use is obviously super useful for DS/3DS games, but can be used by any runner to show off things like bingo feeds, important trackers, or hand cams for blindfolded runs.

Taking the feedback on board, @nickrpgreen.bsky.social@lightystrikes.bsky.social@j4sp3rr.bsky.social to add to our runner OBS. Here's 4:3, with 16:9 still being developed.

Our new take on our 4:3 layout, making much better use of the space and giving the game feeds the biggest amount of space.

We had feedback after PPM1 that our 2p layouts had a lot of wasted space. We've only had a couple of 2p runs since then, so we hadn't prioritized going back and amending these layouts. Here we've got examples of our 16:9 and 4:3 layouts first designed for PPM1:

stelmo98 vs Reverie in Sonic P-06 at PPM1. Viewers like the overall design, but felt there was a lot of wasted space that could be used to make the game feeds bigger.
DrPrufr0ck vs NickRPGreen in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for PPM2. As this was the only race in PPM2, we didn't update the layout following PPM1's feedback, and the change in aspect ratio makes the wasted space even more apparent.
