July 2024 came in at 1.21C above the 1951-1980 baseline for NASA's GISTEMP surface instrumental record. That places it narrowly above July 2023 as the warmest July on record, and when the seasonal cycle is considered that would make it the warmest month overall on record. But! 🧪⚒️
