I have to specifically avoid this effect myself. I make sure my 400 words a day are on my 'primary' WIP. If I want to write more elsewhere, sure... but this is really just a self-trick. Once I lock in on the 400 words, my brain reengages properly.

Totally agree. Normally I work the same, temporarily drifting so… it was an accident. 🙃
