I got an email from someone railing about how a battery container fire in Montreal potentially endangered many people and put toxins in the air and therefore EVs bad. I resisted reminding them about Lac MĆ©gantic.

This is the exact opposite of what the collective local gov'ts of BC asked for at the UBCM this week, and the opposite of what public health, evidence, and common sense ask for. This ghoulish move would kill people, along with cutting off a path to treatment and recovery www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
But, yeah, there are also lots of requests to support Cities in providing libraries, childcare, transit, and things where we also have a role in funding. Such is nature!
