I think Lish's edits made Carver. 'Beginners; 2008 - the 'original unedited', yet later, version of 'What we talk about...' didn't nearly receive the same critical acclaim as the earlier Lish-edited version.
Carver talks about precision, in the rewrite. i leant so much from that.
Ha! I do keep one thing in my head, because i've only room for one thing -"fundamental accuracy of statement is the one sole morality of writing.'
My brain gets stuck; I can't switch back from left to right hemisphere when i have to write huge critical essays. SO, because i cant write I feel incomplete. Which is NOT healthy. SO i'm not pushing it - i'll wait till the writing returns, of its own accord. I'm cool 👍
