Far too polite and generous but then again Norman was from a party that allowed Johnson to be PM in the first place. So the obvious question to the reviewer is - did you not see this? Being more normal is not going to go down well with those who vote for or veer towards Reform. These people often object to being required to accommodate diversity. It’s the requirement rather than the diversity that’s often the issue - it’s that which the genuine racist play upon…

One lesson of Sue Gray non issue is that Labours effort not to dance to the presses tune just resulted in the press filling the void - chaos and failing first 100 days. All this is still largely noise but the budget - or some big policy direction speech is needed soon.
