Same here! Also the shameless unabashed glee of the pirates as they murder boating tourists and a Coast Guard boat. Caine then machine guns the lot of them at the showdown, which strangely doesn't make things much better. Ugh.
On that note, I'm still wondering if there's really a sci-fi-ish movie where a gang of helmeted bad guys with submachine guns stand in a circle mowing down some good guys? If that rings a bell for anyone, please please tell me - maybe an episode from The Invaders? [V - Die Außerirdischen in German]
