On a more practical note, since we’re entering a summer surge: US folks, please bookmark Paxcess. If you get covid in 2024 and want a paxlovid prescription, you really wanna sign up for this. It took my (with ACA insurance) out of pocket cost from $300 down to $0. www.paxlovid.com/paxcess

PAXCESS™ | PAXLOVID™ (nirmatrelvir tablets; ritonavir tablets)

The PAXCESS™ Patient Support Program may help eligible patients lower the cost of PAXLOVID™ and access savings, with or without insurance. T&Cs apply.

I love exercising like, the day after I am done being sick. I'm rested, super hydrated, there's absolutely nothing in my body except muh guts, so I'm light as hell; it's great.

It's time for the 2024 Comics Worker Survey for US workers! Pay transparency is crucial to uncovering patterns in pay inequity & learning what publishers and clients can ACTUALLY pay us. Submit your info and encourage your peers to do the same! cartoonist.coop/2024USsurvey (art by Phil McAndrew)

Text on top reads, "The 2024 Comics Worker Survey."

Centered is an
illustration of a word balloon reading, "Hosted by The Cartoonist Cooperative" held up by a crane, with the panel borders being moved into place. Two people moving the right panel border have dialogue reading, "How much are we getting paid for all this work?" "Good question!" A ink pen is being held up by two people framed to have been used to draw the speech bubble.

Text at the bottom reads, "US Comic Worker Edition. What did our clients and publishers pay us in 2023? What do comics workers need to survive? Add your experience to our annual report!"

Which was a very stark contrast to the Supreme Court news, but I am trying to let the good be good.

ALA is wrapped up and I couldn't have asked for a better show! As always, it's the amazing people I meet and reconnect with that make it amazing!

I clocked the same thing! I hadn't realized what it was til I saw the trailer and I couldn't believe there wasn't a mention of McGuire anywhere!

In case you didn't know, you pay for Kirkus to review your books. Also, they are running a sale, if that is a thing you are interested in: buy a review now, finish your manuscript later. Publishing is weird.

Okay, so I'm going to post a thread now about using Clip Studio Paint, about color settings, ICC color profiles, outputting to CMYK, getting 100% K in your blacks, etc. Technical shit. If you're struggling with this, read the thread. I'll reply to myself here, and it'll take a little time... 1/many
