My daughter is extremely upset this evening. Why? She learned that some animals can see more colours than she can, and see into the ultraviolet spectrum. This is apparently deeply unfair, and very possibly her supervillain origin.

You might suggest it goes even deeper: Some animals like sharks have an electromagnetic sense that goes through many solid objects... and some crabs can perfectly detect where they are on earth using geomagnetic senses... Many raptor birds can see the *polarity* of light, detecting *surface angles*.

To mollify her, let her know the fun fact that felines lack the tongue receptors for sweetness.

Killer origin story though. Think of the tech she’ll make!
