Indeed - Newark is a very impressive bit of trackwork, even if it should have been replaced by a flyover a very long time ago!

Unless you count the quite new one at Porthmadog where the narrow gauge Welsh Highland Railway cross the Cambrian Coast Line.

It’s technically a passenger and freight line, obviously, but yes, they do exist! (And it is one of the worst capacity sinks on the ECML)

They save that kind of lunacy for the East Coast Main Line.

The universe just hates some people. It is sad.
