Romania’s top court stands accused of undemocratic election meddling after it removed an antisemitic, pro-Russia, far-right candidate from the presidential ballot, saying she would threaten the country’s position in the European Union and NATO.
Judges booted an antisemitic candidate from the race because she threatened Bucharest’s place in the EU and NATO. But her rivals are saying the court overstepped its remit.
They have concerns based on their history. I can only imagine modern day Germany would ban a nazi candidate as well. There is a difference between free speech and harmful rhetoric.
They should be careful what they wish for.
Sounds like the corrupt United States Supreme Court and Trump appointed Federal District Court Judges. Aileen Cannon immediately comes to mind.
When will Russia be put in its place? How dare they mess with national elections? They have dispirited their own population such that there’s no fight left. This is the world they want: to be left to cheat and steal and kill opponents. We’re looking at 5 more years of this crap.
