There's a recent genre of youtube channels that is just a guy driving around cities, zooming in and lingering on homeless people and making disapproving noises. Boomers are watching *hours* of that each day, watching that instead of like, normal tv and movies.

People going down these rabbit holes that literally didn't exist 30 years ago, becoming entirely consumed by someone monetizing their personal bigotry in a way that completely alienates them from all other media, unable to talk about any other subject or consume any other media, etc.

and if it's not youtube, it's local action 6 news, which was already doing the same thing for years in the first place
