I unwittingly experienced this at an LAFC game recently. I didn’t realize King’s Hawaiian was using Amazon’s “technology” (poorly-paid remote workers) for their grab and go counter. It was quick, yes, but also very creepy.
Incidentally, I witnessed a traffic interaction ~30 mins ago that I feel confident a computer-operated vehicle will never be able to interpret— -Armored truck parked in the lane, hazards on -city bus gets stuck behind Brinks truck -good Samaritan on opposite side stops to create room, waves bus thru
"These offer a more reliable solution than Just Walk Out, whose impressive technology was truly ahead of its time." How on earth does someone write that sentence AFTER admitting it's just outsourced to overseas workers?
I truly did not even suspect that it was Potemkin shopping Also: For the remote viewers it probably beats working in a factory I guess but it's still a sucky job
