I'd guess survivorship bias. You only see the new artists that take off because the others never get traction or only slowly build a following in a not surprising way and never make it into your feed. Everyone has a lottery ticket, and someone's number has to come up just by chance.

It's like this leaked into our timeline from an adjacent universe

'And thus did another digit on the monkey's paw slowly curl inward' is one that I've gotten a lot of mileage out of after being asked to do any sorta mundane favor

It's a feature, not a bug. They only really want to hook less savvy people since they are less likely to find a way to get back their money, or effectually report them. That's also why the Nigerian prince script still hasn't changed much

Every one of these posts hits like a nuke, and my apartment is slowly filling up with the shadows left by my disintegrating corpse

Posting more actively here when other's accounts are still mostly placeholders could be a good opportunity to grow much faster while eating everyone elses lunch. Seen a few accounts take off just by being here

Those extinguisher hoses are like garden hoses that don't twist, coiling normally forces in a new twist every wrap, but alternating them over/under takes it back out. I do this to my garden hose, extension cords, or even hydraulic lines. I'm doing a bad job describing it
