I am amazed at how much I needed to write that down and how it has helped. And yes, would be lovely.

In context, it’s perhaps more surprising I hadn’t already dropped the teabag into the kettle rather than the mug. It’s helped me to write this. Thanks for allowing me the space.

And the world is…I’m going with a hard and scary place. That’s understatement but to give voice to all would take days, but I do want to acknowledge that global events are something that are affecting all of us in some way.

I don’t write. I haven’t written creatively for over a year. I barely see any friends, a factor that is also affected by the cost of living crisis as to exist in my part of London these days is extortionate.

And on top of that, all the time we have been together, I have been doing the jobs of 2 people. I’m only starting to realise the toll that has taken on me. I am addressing it but the heavy lifting and the responsibility means I rarely switch off.

I’m incredibly lucky to be in the relationship I am. But managing a relationship when you live in different parts of the country takes work, even more so when one of you has children.

More seriously, I am aware that my mental balance isn’t all it could be.
