Some people honestly believe that voting is a tactic and doesn't matter in the larger scheme. Others do believe that it matters. I do find it strange when people attach morality to it in either direction. Fetishizing the vote strikes me as unproductive.

Ive always found it ironic that, as easily one of the most anarchist leaning people in the circles I find myself in IRL, Ive also voted most consistently. Also organizing the CMHC where I work, engaging in direct action, mutual aid etc. srsly it takes 15min.

My immediate response is 2016-2020 ripple effects will be hammering us for decades but if I actually take a breath and really think about what it might be like to feel completely forgotten and disenfranchised I understand what you are saying. Hopefully I’ll remember it moving forward. (Redstateguy)

Some people were taught at a young age that voting is the most basic and important part of America's democratic process™️ (the most beautiful thing in the world), and cling to that article of faith like a drowning man with a spar

My only thought on it is this. There is a reason why oppressors do not want those they oppress to vote. Conservatives always vote and are always cooking up ways to disenfranchise folks - I don't think they'd bother if it didn't matter.

Millions of people will ALWAYS opt out of voting. And their reasons will be varied and illegible to you. If you think that voting is in fact important than work to persuade the persuadable to your position.
