There is some butyrate in Hershey's chocolate but, I think, at relatively low levels. I wonder if anyone has looked at histone acetylation in Hershey's chocolate eaters…

Dark chocolate has the highest concentration of cocoa solids, which contain theobromine, toxic to dogs. Milk chocolate commonly has compounds including vanillin and butyric acid added, which influences its taste. White chocolate doesn't contain any cocoa solids, only cocoa butter (comprised of a number of fats), sugar and milk.
