Seriously, this is old news for everyone, but Hadestown basically re-arranged big chunks of my brain -- I shed many a tear.

To live in Oxford as a US post-doc is to get a good education in the architecture of beauty and exclusion. Gorgeous. Yet Formidable. And a constant reminder of places that are reserved for a few, compared to the wilder beauty of the meadows and streams.
