Therapy is cool and everything, but what I really need is societal change. I am sure my mental health will fare better in a truly socialist and progressive system. In a world where water, food, healthcare, education, etc, are all free and basic human rights.

A study measured the performance of 800 developers before and after getting GitHub's Copilot. It found: - No change in productivity - No change in burnout levels - A 41% increase in the bug rate!?? Aren't you thrilled we're burning the world to power these AI models?

Code analysis firm sees no major benefits from AI dev tool when measuring key programming metrics, though others report incremental gains from coding copilots with emphasis on code review.

The whole "judges keep politics out of their work" thing has always been silly, but Neil Gorsuch doing book tour events with Megyn Kelly and Ben Shapiro might be the strongest evidence yet that the justices aren't even pretending to take it seriously

Most Americans disapprove of the Court's lurch to the right. But the justices who control the Court are not listening to most Americans.

Cato Institute economists and others of the Old Ways mad and fretting about Biden being too pro-union. Only L in the article is it mentioning that Biden supports the Jones Act (delenda est)

Amazing what having a pro-union administration can do. It's the first time it's been the case in my lifetime. Biden said publicly and privately that forcing an end to the strike was off the table. His secretaries kept close tabs and pressured the management into reaching a deal.

It's Bandcamp Friday and you already know the deal. It's the best day to get anything from my inadvisably eclectic discography on this website. 2mellomakes.bandcamp.com/music

I like making the type of music I'd like there to be more of in the world. Hope you find both excitement and calm here.

I think the striking thing with US political media is not only did they fail to learn *anything* from 2016, the next four years allowed them to double-down on their own sense of self-righteousness, and their dislike of Biden for not fitting their narratives made it worse.

In 2018, we found a bunch of old PSAs from the earliest days of the agency rotting away in boxes. We digitized them and now release them periodically as part of the CPSC PSA Archive: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

the basic problem with how democrats prepped for this is that they see it as an opportunity to persuade when it is really a chance to humiliate your opponent. (see: biden, joe. 2012 debate.)
