Or an easy recipe I nabbed from Hello Fresh. Toss some white rice into the rice cooker~ Ground pork in the pan, sizzle, equal parts Kikkoman Sweet Soy Glaze and Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. Stir fry. Snip up some scallions (white bits go in to sizzle). Finish pork with green scallion & fried onion~

Mine is usually just some spaghetti aglio e olio! Well
not now, with olive oil prices, ha ha. Bless you, massive olive oil drum from lockdown. You’re still holding strong. >.>

I don’t know. There’s nothing I’m -defending-. Mistakes were made, nobody reacts to everything the same way, expectations can be missed and all that. Or maybe I desperately want to wax philosophic about narrative choices and overall possible intent, for good or for ill.

At least to me, that hinted that [rando] may be pivotal somewhere. And since everything is almost over, hmmm. Oh, look. That’s an interesting character name that shows up at the very end that stands out wildly and is likely [rando]. And, if true, a deep cut.

The first thought isn’t “why did they cut at least 3 times to [rando’s] face in these scenes?” It’s not an audience stand-in in a comedic sense since the timing is not in the right “place.” And his reactions are not really symmetrical to what the audience should feel.

I’m just surprised that other reviews are commenting on a shocking scene but

they didn’t watch the credits?
they didn’t check IMDB afterwards? The character is never “named” in the narrative (this doesn’t help at all), is only framed a few times in certain scenes for a physical reaction.

There’s a whole larger analysis waiting for that last bit, too. Amongst others. And a larger question still is “by this being vague, are we being ‘deep’ or is there not enough connective narrative tissue to lead us to more steadfast conclusions?” In many cases, I could argue either way.

“Why would [A] go there?” Because [B] implied they would be around-ish there. “But what about the conversation? It didn’t tell us everything!” Things are being said without being said. [B] had nothing to do with [C]. [B] still does [D] when [A] does not. [D] is a direct loop of a callback.
