Switching from the standard controller to DualShock on Gran Turismo was an unreal upgrade. It brought levels of nuance my 14 year old brain could barely comprehend.

Made fighting games soooh much easier to do combos with
Feels like the key difference no one talks about with the Dualshock is how much bigger than the PSX controller it is. Even compared to the SNES controller, the PSX standard is tiny, with the only thing making up for its size being the handle grips.

I love the 360 controller but there's something about the PS1/PS2 that just bring a raw feeling of eagerness to enjoy some vid games
You give 10 medieval peasant children a dualshock controller, 9 of them would go into shock and die, but the 10th would conquer 3/4ths of the known world.
