Posted this elsewhere- I think some of the audience at these Econ. Club events include supporters that aren’t tied to the club. I was invited to Kamala Harris’s Pittsburgh Econ Club event & I’m just a volunteer/minor donor! So I assume it’s mainly his partisans who are laughing and clapping.

I was out in the South Hills today with a friend. Not sure how many doors we approached, but our best conversations were with older women (over 70) and young men in their 20s & 30s. A few were reluctant to engage but no overt hostility which was great!

Same! I grew up in the Northern panhandle of WV in the same era, and those sentiments wouldn’t have been unusual then and wouldn’t be now. 😢

One of the detractors who was quoted is in her early 30s - it’s not just old people (but you’re right about the White part).

My dad was a judge & when I was that age, I loved going to work with him during summer breaks. I would go across the street to the library & get a few books, then sit on the bench and read if court wasn’t in session (or in the back of the courtroom if it was).
