A not-so-fun fact: North Carolina teachers spend an average of $1300+ a year on supplies for their classroom. Another not-so-fun fact: The NC legislature just voted to give almost $500 million to private schools. When I say public education is on the ballot, I mean it!! #nced

Blue background with drawings of pencils at the bottom. The text reads: “Teachers should not have to pay out of pocket for school supplies.” [white text, “out of pocket” yellow text]

At the top is the logo for the National Educators Association (NEA)

Under a Trump presidency, North Carolina schools could lose more than 6,400 teaching positions (serving 98k+ students) with Project 2025’s proposed elimination of Title I funding. And that’s not the only way Project 2025 would hurt NC ⬇️ #ncpol#ncedwww.americanprogress.org/wp-content/u...

Given that conservatives are already calling teachers groomers for simply telling LGBTQ+ students that they’re not bad people for being queer, this is deeply concerning. As if we didn’t have enough problems with gun violence at schools… #ncpol

It's a shame NC's support staff ratios remain so low. But none of these professional orgs joined the fight for Leandro, which would've funded these positions at industry recommended levels. Now they're reaping the predictable rewards of "playing nice" with NCGA leadership...a hot bowl of jack shit!

You can’t complain about school transportation issues while also advocating for defunding public schools. I mean, you can…but it makes you look unserious.
