tbh hard to tell how much of an impact within the executive branch, but i’m sure it matters somewhat. also important for the record and is used by advocates in congress (which interestingly includes more house republicans than democrats last i checked)

oh interesting about the Rs in congress, I didn't know that. inter-agency stuff is always so complicated and I don't know the context for health stuff like I do finance and housing

in the end, not much will be done unless the white house puts more pressure on the DEA. but my read is that biden aligns more with their priorities than the health agencies, and harris likely will too + some dems might see this as an electoral liability due to stigma & GOP willingness to exploit it
