uhh iirc, when HL came out, there was large audience of people who wanted to boycott it because JKR. There were also a lot of people who bought the game just to 'piss off the libs'. Hasan saw this situation and his big brain idea was to do a charity stream where he played HL.

As an IT person I'll say that over time we simply learn not to trust the end user. Or the department is put on strict rails that won't let us consider what they're saying even if we agree with it. It varies from company to company.
